Be a part of the art – Open Project Sessions during The Lab

Some projects need your help as they develop towards the Festival day. During the Lab you can help artists test out their idea and give feedback.

NOTE: All sessions will meet at the Information Point in the Turbine Hall on the day.

Case Study Interactive Sessions
These artists are building a new society on Cockatoo Island. Take part in round table discussions and contribute ideas towards their final artworks to be presented at the Festival.

  • Sunday 3 July: 3 – 4pm
  • Sunday 10th July: 4 – 5pm

Fetish Frequency presents Inflection
Help the artists test out small components of their interactive theatre game, from determining the difficulty levels of puzzles through to giving feedback on how successful the storyline is at providing an incentive to keep playing.

  • Thurs 7th July: 4.30 – 5.30pm

Tour: Whale Chorus presents a short work in progress
At the end of the 2pm Tour, Whale Chorus invited you to spend some time with them to watch a few scenes they have been developing for their show ‘Rhapsody’.

  • Sat 9th July: 4pm (at the end of the 2pm tour)

The Stream, the Boat, the Shore, the Bridge
Come play a pervasive game with these artists to help them develop their project towards the Festival! Umm… but what is a pervasive game? Well, imagine a board game that occurs at human scale or a networked computer game where you are playing alongside several others. Instead Cockatoo Island will be the site and you will be the players.

Triage Live Art Collective
Do you have a confession to make? A tale to tell? A secret life? An untold passion?
J Dark can help…Request a test audience with J Dark by appointment only
During the Lab triage live art collective needs you as a test audience in this one on one interactive performance work. Make an appointment by email or text to watch a work in progress and give feedback on the developing show.

  • Sat 9th, Sun 10th, Mon 11th, Tues 12th
    12pm – 4.30pm by appointment. We’ll provide you with a mobile number to call to arrange a session.

Butterfries in development
Join Butterfries as they test the format of their show, and how you as an audience respond to the challenges placed before you.
