Pattern Machine 2

The artists behind Pattern Machine will build a site-specific audio-visual installation responding to the surrounding maritime-industrial landscape, representing the hidden inner life of the fallen industrial beast. They will construct a synaesthetic nylon cocoon of imagined bodily organs from amongst the half-alive structures of the convict workshop, and offer the audience a glimpse into the hidden processes that lurk therein. This space will be used throughout the lab as a site of multiple experiments. The giant reverberating cavities will be contrasted with nimble, darting synthetic swarms of sound and light. The inflatable egg-sac of the organ they create will sculpt and soften the angles of the hall, inviting the audience in and transforming their view of the space.

Pattern Machine is a one-off collaboration between musicians, programmers, an installation artist and inflatable artist. Come inside and be witness to what promises to be an all-encompassing audio-visual experience.
