Murasaki Penguin – Shima 5
Shima, Murasaki Penguin’s first creation in Australia, will be an interdisciplinary site-specific work created on Cockatoo Island. It will cross dance, sound, video, electronics and installation, with every medium influenced by the eerie, run-down, industrial – but also beautiful – nature of the island.
Murasaki Penguin tends to draw on themes including technology, isolation, beauty found in nature, the built environment and Australian and Japanese culture. Using a combination of dance, projection mapping, e-textiles and site recordings, they will collaborate with the textures, scale and ambience that make Cockatoo Island one of the most intriguing places in Australia.

Murasaki Penguin’s was the most amazing dance performance I have seen in years it was truly an honor to see…. Thank you your peace brought tears to my eyes. You danced an entire life span with such attention to detail and joy and love and loss. フィードをありがとうそして私の魂を慰めた、私は私の母とあなたのダンスの死亡率との折り合いをつけるためにしようとしているが私に強さを与えた。私はあなたの両方に十分に感謝できない…I would love to dance with you one day! Thank you Sam.
