PROJECT: FILLING IN THE CRACKS

Reef Knot are inviting new and emerging public artists to work with them to create a series of small scale, environmentally friendly works along Kensington Street, Chippendale. Drawing on Reef Knot’s experience producing community-based, engaging public art, the works will create a sense of intimacy and personalisation in the local urban environment.

Reef Knot believe that Public Art should be relevant to and accessible by the Public; it should be appealing, make sense within its environmental and social context and not be difficult to relate to regardless of a person’s art knowledge.

Reef Knot is a scalable artist collective featuring Michelle McCosker and Alasdair Nicol. On a project by project basis they collaborate with additional artists across all art forms on large, public, multi-arts installations throughout Sydney and at selected festivals. The majority of their works use familiar found and recycled materials installed in the public domain.
